Hi all,
I’m currently testing Business Central and have encountered an issue.
In the “Items” tab, when selecting “New”, two templates are available: TECHART and TIERART. Our goal is to restrict visibility so that specific users see only one of the two templates — some should see TECHART, and others TIERART. We’re trying to achieve this using Advanced Cloud Security.
In Phase 1, we defined a security feature named “FILT.ART.TECHNIK” and configured the relevant page controls and data access filters. However, in Phase 3 — where we assign users via Security Groups — the filtering doesn’t seem to work.
Interestingly, when I assign the filter directly to a user, it works as expected. The issue arises only when assigning it via Security Groups or Permission Sets. I also tested this by assigning the same filter to both security groups that I’m a part of, but it still doesn’t work.
Has anyone experienced something similar or have any insights on what might be going wrong?
Thanks in advance!
Please use the “See Effective Security” option, do the security show up on that list for the user?
Then it’s not assigned to them…
Are you using Security Groups (and have you turned on the cache in ACS setup), then make sure the job queue is running to update the cache (you can create the Job Queue from the ACS setup page).
Yes, we are using security groups, and I did assign it like in your Video, my User is in the Group and as I said, when I assign it directly via “Assign Security to Users” then it works, but not via “Assign Security to Security Groups” or could it be, that I cant filter out Templates?
Dont know if its easy to understand, english is not my mother tongue but i try to explain the structure/ in which page im in
On the Mainpage of our Business Central Enviroment you got at the top the action bar
Bellow that is another bar (dont know what its called but there is “Items”)
When Opening Items, I get the Item-List, at the Top is still the Action-bar and bellow that are the Options for the Items when Using “new” another Page opens called “Select a Template for a new item” in which are “TECHART” and “TIERART” and I want to filter those if possible with the Security Groups.
I hope I got my point across what I want to do (Sorry if I did not explain correctly because I only started to use Business Central recently)
First of all, your English is much better than my German(?), so no issues there.
Those are templates, in table Item Templ. (1382), you can set filter on that table.
Hey,
perfect ahahaha.
so my collague did already configure it that way, in the Data Access Filters,
Table Name: Item Templ.
Field Name: Code
Related Record:
Filter Value: TECHART
Hello,
yes we did try that, but it doesnt show up in that list for the User, in the List there isnt anything only brackets with (There is nothing to show in this view), for other Users, who got the Filter assigned directly it does show up.
