first let me thank you for a great product.
I have a problem adding number series to data tables (autonumber PK).
I have once successfully added a number series (via the automatically created setup table), but for the life of me I am not able to successfully replicate the process for additional data tables.
Nor can I figure out how or remember how I actually chose a number series for Field no. 2 here in the first place.
Line 3-5 here (the features/data tables) do not get any number assigned to the PK field, whereas line 2 (the first one created) does.
What am I missing?
Every single setting on field 2-5 is identical as far as I can tell, but only field 2 actually gets a number series assigned
You can only set a number series to the Primary Key field… i’m not sure I understand what you mean by the 2-5, those are lookup to other tables, nothing get assigned automatically for those.
Ahhh.. in Alt-Q search for the name of your App … There’s a “Setup” page where the number series are defined.
Maybe I was unclear, so I’ll try again
– I have created multiple Data tables as new features. Most of them do not use a number series for primary key.
– The first Data Table I created that *did* use a number series for primary key prompted the automatic creation of the “Setup” Data Table in the feature list, which then included the fields no. 1 and 2 (PK + TolltariffDDI_Number )
— this is some time ago, and I simply cannot remember how I picked the actual number series to be used, or if I chose at all, nor can I find any reference to the number series anywhere from inside Simple Object Designer.
I can see which number series (from BC) is being used, but I don’t know how specifically that number series has been chosen
– When I later on have created *additional* Data Tables which use number series, there is *not* a prompt for a Setup table.
Instead it is automatically added an additional field in the Setup Data Table for each new table that use number series. As per the image in my previous post, this is field No. 3-5 in the Setup table
I assume this is normal behaviour, but I am trying to figure out how I can make these additional tables also actually have their PK be automatically assigned from a Number Series.
As it is now, only the first Data Table created (“TolltariffDDI”) that use a Number series actually get a number assigned automatically, the others do not.
As mentioned, all the field settings on all these fields in the Setup Table, along with the settings on the actual tables they are referring to, are identical as far as I can tell, so I’m struggling to understand why only the first one (“TolltariffDDI”) actually gets a number assigned as PK automatically.
